"Mother and Child Nursing"

10" x 10"  colored pencil  $200.00 matted and framed

When my daughter had her new baby boy, who is now 17 years old, I thought they looked so precious together in the hospital.    Colored pencil is the perfect medium for a tender drawing.
I can almost still smell the sweet breath, feel the soft skin and fuzzy little head.  If you are a parent you understand.

"High Five"

8" x 8"  acrylic   $100.00

Companionships are not difficult for this little girl in her red accessories and fur coat.  She can chatter as long as she likes and her new smiling frosty, bewreathed friend will always listen with a high five twig.  I had actually snapped this shot of the little girl at a Nutcracker performance.  When I put her onto the canvas today she just begged to have a frosty friend.  I had never envisioned it before that.

"Ocean Song"

8" x 8"  acrylic on canvas board  SOLD
Remember?  Could you hear it?  A big conch shell makes a big roar in a little child's mind.  See the look of wonder and awe, and pleasure in this small beach goer.  Wish I was there again with my toes touching the sand and the sea at the same instant.

This little bunny is a great teaching tool to loosen people up.  With a ton of water and a brush loaded with bright colors, anyone can learn this technique.  In three layers you will have a handsome fluffy abstract bunny that looks like he is serenely sitting in the weeds in the sunshine.  A successful class today.

Tulips and Iris came together for our church decor and the flowing lines and gorgeous colors reminded me of singing.  I think Mozart would have loved this bouquet!

"Arranging Her Hair"

16" x 20"  oil   $450.00
Almost all little girls love to dance.  This young Navajo girl from Southeast Colorado arranges her black shiny hair for the exciting pow wow dance!  She is wearing a fringed skirt and calf length hand made leather moccasins.  It is a hot dry dusty day, but she is used to that. She listens to the beat of the drums that match the beat of her heart.

"Round and Round the Garden"

This is fun little poem from England that you say to babies.  You trace a circle in the baby's hand while saying ,"round and round the garden".  Then while saying"one step two step," you  walk your fingers up the wrist to the top of the arm.  Then when you say "tickle you under there", you quickly tickle them under their arm.  They love it so much and never want you to quit.  These are made by hand in any color in about a day. I just realized I misspelled round,, so will have to make another!
Sorry!  At least you can see it for now.

"American Hero"

48" x 60"  acrylic  $7,000.00

American Hero was painted after 9/11, however since we recently had the Waldo Canyon fire here in Colorado Springs, I will re- present this painting to give honor to our valient firefighters.  Fire pushed by 65 mile an hour winds pushed our firemen backwards, but they stayed their ground.  They saved 81% of the homes in Mountain Shadows neighborhood, but lost 346 homes.  Many of those lost belonged to a number of artists that I know.  If this painting sells, (It is framed) I will donate all of the proceeds to my friends who now have nothing but embers.

"Beach Dance"

16" x 20" oil  $199.00

They are the best of friends who love to play together and romp in the the moist sand.  The day is bluet and the low water tides are cool, but the sunshine is warm.  Their joy will fill the memory books for many years to come, and you can almost hear them singing the seashell song.  Water is a universal sign of life, isn't it?
