Rocky Mountain Presence

24" x 30"   oil on canvas    $725.00

A million scenes to paint. Did your Mother teach you to look, to capture in your mind scenery, clouds, forests, waters, roads, directions, weather, and foliage? You are the lucky one indeed.

Check out Mr. bear in the background ready to amble down and splash around in the stream and cool off.  You can almost feel the moisture in the air and the temperature of around 68 degrees.  Soooo comfortable!
If you are interested in this painting it will be showing at Arati Artists Gallery, 2425 W. Colorado Ave., during the month of July.  We are a full coop with working artists and all original artwork.  Let us wrap up an experience for you, and while you are at it, take a look at the myriad other items like jewelry, pottery, wood carvings, glass art, sculpture and greeting cards.

Delphiniums for Dorothy

8" x 10"  oil on canvas board   $100.00

 Dorothy loved Flag Day.
Small jars of sweet fresh flowers  brightened the tables with delphiniums, daisies and a touch of red and reminded us of a genteel, wise, generous  and beautiful woman who blessed our lives.

Rocky Mountains Beautiful Layers

10" x 14"  watercolor  $150.00

Rushing Waters are going somewhere splashing, dashing and sparkling over rocks that dominate the mountain.
Refreshing every moment with centuries of memories which we have never encountered until today.  It is one of the oldest blessings.  Water baptizes, cleanses, quenches, and nourishes every cell in beautiful layers.  I am in awe of the life it gives coming from the clouds to the earth.  My soul, my eyes  and my body drink it in.

Lights and Stars Wabi Sabi

17 x 24   watercolor baatik on rice paper with gold thread $125.00 unmounted

This is  a technique I am learning from Carol Naylor.  Carol is an excellent teacher who stays with you to the very end, and also feeds you delicious fare and drink.
I mentioned that the figures weren't very perfect.  My friend, Becky said that is called "Wabi Sabi"
I took a lot of wrong turns on this one, but with Carol's guidance it came out.
I love this painting and hope to do many more in the near future.  It took all day to pull off this effect of the dancers and stage lighting because of the many layers!
All the paintings created  in the class were fabulous!

Old Man Laguna and Horn

14" x 19"  watercolor   SOLD

"Laguna" was sitting Laguna beach near the ice cream store  serenely watching the tides as I assume he did every day. I asked if I could snap his photo and he said "yes". He was a colorful gentleman who seemed to know lots of people and occasionally blew his horn between drags on his cigarette.   If you would like a print of this painting, please contact the artist.

Strawberry Feast

14" x 15"  watercolor   still life   $325.00  matted and framed

On the huge, gorgeous, burl table made by my Father, fruits, napkins, and flowers reflect his love of nature and most especially the grain in wood.  My Father was a lover who loved my Mother.  He grew up the youngest with 7 sisters who adored him.  He had a great sense of humor, was always curious and had the ability to put anything together, including houses, cabinets and my clothing with no patterns.  I miss him.
