"Meilyn" finished

1/29/12    11"x15"   w/c      SOLD
This is the finished demo for the class I taught last Saturday.
Meilyn is my granddaughter.  She is 13 and her real name is Xia Xia which means pink cloud.

"Meilyn" unfiished
1/21/12    11"x15"   w/c      $350.00
Mei Lyn is my beautiful Chinese granddaughter and the daughter of Brent and Stacy.  She posed for me on my front deck.  I used this pose for a portrait class beginning on Sat. 1/21/12.  After putting color on lightly  in the first wash, making certain I left the highlights white, I let the painting completely dry.  Next, I painted the same 3 colors, (gambouge, cad red and cobalt blue), that are just for her skin tones.  I added the levi jacket in shades of ultramarine and indigo.
I plan on finishing this painting next Sat. to show my students how to layer in more of the same colors, let it dry again, then finesse the rest of the painting adding my darks on the eyes lips and hair, ad final touches to the jacket.
Stay tuned!

"Wintry Aspens"

12.5 x 5 .25           watercolor print          $30.00

We have aspens all around our home in Colorado. These aspens are outside my window and after a heavy snow, everything is delicately beautiful and serene. Behind the trees are evergreens with snow plops on their ferny figertips.http://www.dailypaintworks.com/outofpopup/e8e7b392-f18e-44c5-a893-62bad9f1e29c

Again the crisp snowy morning made my nose hairs freeze as the sunlight produced highlights and shadows on the glistening drifts.

"Winter Whites"

Thick clean snow fell on the Western Slope.  Morning aspens sparkle.

"Farmhouse Road, Pevina, Italy"

15" x 30" oil on canvas framed  $575.00

I woke up in a sunlit room and lace curtains filled with the fresh fragrance of an Italian village farm.  Mezmerised, I took a quick shower, got dressed and ran down the road to snap as many photos as I could, deliciously savoring the sun and shadows.  This buttery road, led to the vineyard.  The direction behind me led to the olive groves.  Was I in heaven?  Fresh vegetables, hand pressed olive oil, cheese, pasta, and home cured prociutto were lunchtime specialties!

"Romantic Mediterranean Couple"

16 x 16 oil on deep canvas  $200.00
Couples throughout eternity have found engaging and lovely places to fall in love.  This is a warm scene, with an open door.  You can still smell the lingering fragrance of a delicious Italian repast.  He will bid farewell for the evening and can barely wait to return tomorrow, bringing a small box and a trinket of his affection.

"Daisy Sprinkles"

8" x 10" w/c on 140 lb Fabriano paper  $100.00

Daisies are natural day brighteners with their floaty white petals and their cheerful yellow centers and fern-like leaves. Painted when sunshine highlighted these laughing ladies as it peeked through the clouds.

"Three Faces of Eve"

7 x 5  oil on canvas board  3 for $100.00 or $50.00 each.

I imagined Eve with three personalities and looks.
So these are 3 separate paintings, but I took the photo with them all together.  This is a composite of loveliness, not at all pretentious or mean hearted.  On the other hand there is innocence lost by listening to the wrong voice.  We must protect the preciousness of our children by helping them to understand that they must make decisions based on wisdom, not on what "looks" good or on a lying promise of "wealth, knowledge or power".

"Mediterranean Sunflower in a Bag"

 oil,  5" x 7"  on canvas board   $50.00

These flowers are brilliantly displayed in large Mediterranean fields and brighten the landscape in a joyful yellow gold.  One giant sunflower is enough to enhance my day.  www.reveillekennedy.com

"Eve's Snack"
01-07-2012   5.5" x 10.5"   watercolor on 140 lb watercolor paper  $80.00

Eve chose a delicious fruit for her downfall.  Apples are filled with goodness and their crisp, fleshy crunchiness and their bright colorful redness are definitely enticing.  Poor Eve.

"Jones"

"Jones"   SOLD
I have just finished this late Christmas present for my friend, Jones on 1/4/12.  She really likes it, thank goodness. She is the better half of my son, Jack. She has two good looking little boys and is a good mommy and gentle nature.
