"The Magpie Who Builds"

21" x 29"  watercolor on Arches 140 lb paper  $1200.00  SOLD

The builder is a magpie male who lovingly placed each and every twig in its proper place to woo his love who came in the spring when he had finished the task in the windy weather. I watched him from my kitchen window, formed the thought of the poetic painting, and he sat while she laid her eggs in the shelter and then helped feed his brood.   I love this painting!

"Oh Poppy!"

8" x 10"  watercolor on yupo  $40.00

Yupo is a slick paper almost like plastic and so the bright paint sits on top of it and dries in many loose washy blobs.  It is really exciting to tip the paper with the color sliding around, but be careful not to create mud!

"A Pause In The Day's Occupation"

8" x 10"  oil on canvas   $50.00

Looking from my upstairs bedroom window is this pleasant pastoral scene. I took the liberty of deleting a few houses.  The evening glow was on the backsides of all the foliage and evergreens making the landscape soft and serene.  Lucky me.

"The Early Robin Gets the Worms

18.5" x 26"  watercolor on Arches 140 lb paper  in white frame  $550.00

When the flaming orange sun begins to appear in the early morning  and most of us are still snuggled in bed, these fledgling babies are beginning to peep.  They are starving!  So diligent mother robin seeks and finds the tastiest morsels.  She is programmed to help her little ones grow strong, so they can one day be independent and fly away.

"Give Me Your Answer True"

12" x 16"  oil on canvas board unframed  $199.00

A revisit to this painting was exactly what it needed to capture my original thought.  I had given up on it last year, but found some redeeming qualities. I love painting lyrical blossoms and capturing the essence.  Now with blue skies and green foliage blurred outside the paned living room window there is focus.  With oils you can hide mistakes with just a bold stroke of new color, thank goodness!

"JFK"

  16" x 20"  oil on canvas  $225.00

I painted this for a contest on presidential portraits.  It did not win, but I still like this painting with a handsome young man and tired eyes.

"Zing Goes My Heart"

7" x 12" w/c  $125.00 framed and matted

Perhaps you have some of these stunning lillies in your garden.  Sunset orange visages to the sky and unfurled pods of lavender green, just waiting for the camera lens, like a well trained famous actress.  Hmmm.  Could it be Scarlet or Madonna?

"Into Yellow Heart Shaped Aspen Leaves"

7.75 x 13.75   watercolor and gouache  $65.00

Aspen trees are alluring to me.  I hear that they are like a weed, growing quickly, putting out lots of shoots, and being susceptible to pests and problems.  However they are like magic to me in the autumn because of the way the light blazes through the brilliant heart shaped leaves.

"Colorful Farm Eggs"

6" 8"  oil   $65.00

Stacy, my daughter in law, has chickens that lay Easter eggs!  Really, they are that colorful and boy do I hate to crack them.  I just enjoy staring at them in the light filled kitchen.  They taste yummy too.

"September's Song"

18" x 24"  acrylic  $350.00

A lyrical bit of woodland poetry.  Can you smell the freshness?  Sparkling water and vibrant grasses stimulate the senses.
Happy September!  (I know, it's only June, but I couldn't resist.)

"Rocking Chair with Eggs and Cloth"

21" x 29"  watercolor  $550.00 unframed

I wanted to paint with just one color, and black and white, plus the image  of a white cloth with eggs in the rocking chair  to portray life.... but don't sit down there, or I will have to add yellow!  I enjoyed the graphic starkness yet soft folds of fabric.  This looks fantastic in a house with white walls, be it the kitchen, bedroom, enclosed porch or dining area.  I can send it unframed or I can frame and ship it for another $200.00.
