Into the Woods to Sing

6" x 6" x 1"   acrylic painted on all sides  $60.00

This little robin sings when she finds worms for her babies and sings when she is telling her love how much she cares about him. We should do the same.  When we cook we should sing.  And when we want to show our loved ones affection, we should at least hum a little ditty over them.  Can you imagine how that would make them feel?  I know I would like it, because my mom used to sing to me and it made me feel very loved.

Last Light

30" x 30"    oil   $800.00
In the last light of day, the American eagle, a symbol of freedom, ceremoniously surveys his kingdom, a desert sanctuary.  Generous golden light passionately kisses every edge, transforming the harsh landscape before putting it to bed.  Gooddnight eagle.  Goodnight desert.  Thank you God, for the symphony of color.

“Dusk is just an illusion because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are there cannot be one without the other yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel I remember wondering to be always together yet forever apart?”

Six Sheep at Dawn

7.5"  x 11"   watercolor   $50.00
On this glorious morning waking up is so easy.  A morning jog under the the rosy sky
is exhilarating.    This is a quick composition, simple and loose, but effective.  Sometimes a juicy wash is all that is needed.

Kansas Sheep Farm

11" x 15"  watercolor  $125.00

I have composed this painting from 5 Kansas photos.  It has been a really fun challenge, and will eventually become a full sheet of w/c paper.
I love painting sheep and clouds.  It is a calm and peaceful scene which is what my client sees every day. The next painting will have spottier Kansas clouds, and tall grasses.
I sure hope it will look pretty with the beautiful quilt she has made.

Five Sheep Running

11" x 6"         watercolor        $45.00

I have been working on combinations of colors for a client and making small paintings to send as a trial from the color combos she sent me.  It will eventually be a full sheet w/c hung to complement her quilt.
I will make a couple more of these loose washes, and I am itching to begin the real painting.

Delta's Legacy of Orchards

16" x 24"  oil on canvas  $450.00

When I visit my brother in Cedar Edge, Colorado, near Delta, on the Western Slope,  I get all nostalgic.  My Mom and Dad and my brother and his family moved there in the 80's.  My Dad was a builder and wanted to build his home there, but instead got multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer) and was never able to fulfill his dreams.  Instead he remodeled a nice trailer home, knocking out walls and building a carport and back porch before he passed away.  So Mom lived there for about 9 more years until she passed away.  The countryside was so lovely, especially in the Spring and Mom wrote poetry about the scenery, the people, the  animals, the cares and woes.  There are still many apple orchards and peaches in the area and it is abundant with natural peace.
Make certain you purchase some fresh picked peaches there.

3 Sheep Waiting

12.5 x 9.75  watercolor  $75.00
Whether you are a sheep or you are a human, we are all waiting for something from time to time.  We have hope that one day Jesus will return and we look for him every day.  Sometimes we silently pray, sometimes we joyfully sing and sometimes we lament for special reasons to a God who always hears us and cares about us tenderly.

And Light Came In On Wings of Love

20" x 20"  acrylic on canvas, framed  $200.00

Inside the temple was a huge thick veil which was torn in two from the top down at Jesus' death.  Did you know that it was a sign of the new covenant?  Does the ancient priest look confused, in awe, and blinded by the light?  He is!  Butterflies are a sign of new life and I portrayed them  bounding through the tear in the curtain, blessing everyone and opening their eyes to the wonder of Christ's love.  This was a painting for an Easter show that is a different style for me, but I had a lot of fun painting the bright and colorful scene.  It is kind of like a window of hope.  I hope you like it!
