Sugar Sherbet Snowfall

Some time ago I had seen the sun shining through the evening clouds with the brushy limbs and the ancient  tree stumps at the bottom of the trunks and always thought I should paint that scene.  When my students wanted to learn snow, I remembered the scene and thought, why paint blue snow?  Let's get creative.  I had so much fun planning this peaceful painting.  I let the spirit of the painting come through, and challenged and delighted myself.  Notice the repetition of shapes and colors.  What would we do without repetition?  Just think of our cells, the grass, bricks and hair.  How about learning?  Repetition is sooo important.

River Blue

Even in the winter warm barren golden weeds line the river like a woolen scarf.  A small lone wooden barn near the base of the mountains shelters livestock. Oh glorious day!

Foxey

This little Mama lives under our driveway.  She feeds her pups mice and birds and every once in a while we are lucky to see her scampering through the trees.  She doesn't stop often, so we are lucky to catch a glimpse of her.

Paper Hat

Dear lambs,

My sheep know My voice.....knowledge puffs up but love builds up......He leads me in green pastures.....

We wander, we get ourselves in ruts and guess who gets us out of the ruts?  He moves us to a part of the pasture where there are lots of good things to eat.  I know who he is, because he has always been my shepherd.  Because of Him  I sleep in peace.  I am one of His many lambs and my Father loves me best!

Bear Sitting

Mama bear and baby bear relaxing and watching for their next meal.   This is a study for a demo Sunday April 28, 1 - 4 at Bancroft Park in Old Colorado City.  The demo will be slightly different with 3 bears on 24" x 36" canvas in acrylic.   Proceeds from the auction will go to make enhancements to the park.  

There will be 5 demo artists; Jan Oyler, Larry Haught, Dick Williams, Lori Watry and myself all painting.  Come and take your chance to purchase a really nice painting from one of us.  

I'll Love You Forever

Little girls love their horses and the warmth of their skin and their soft breath.  Children like to feel in charge and when the horse is gentle she doesn't seem to mind.  In fact she seems to love the comfort of children. The little colt is simply observing and learning.

Her back is aching. She has bent over the crops in the hot sun all day long and still has to catch the chicken for dinner.  She is young and hardy and beautiful underneath her headscarf.  Her children help when they can, but she wants to make certain they get an education first.  Her vegetable garden is filled with lots of greens, beans, root veggies, potatoes and herbs.

He has been working in the fields all day.  He is tired and ready for dinner.  After dinner he will feed the pigs and cattle and milk the cows.  He is a proud man, making his own wages, selling and bartering to make ends meet and to send his children to school to get the best education they can.   by God.

"Boots"

Worn and weathered, these boots have seen combat, mud, muck, hot sand, and bugs.  They have protected precious feet and stopped short from stepping on land mines.  Aren't they beautiful?

"The Architect"

The builder is a magpie who lovingly placed each and every twig in its proper place to woo his love.  She came in the spring when he had finished the task in the windy weather. "Round and Round the Garden"

This is fun little poem from England that you say to babies.  You trace a circle in the baby's hand while saying ,"round and round the garden".  Then while saying"one step two step," you  walk your fingers up the wrist to the top of the arm.  Then when you say "tickle you under there", you quickly tickle them under their arm.  They love it so much and never want you to quit.  These are made by hand in any color in about a day. I just realized I misspelled round,, so will have to make another!
