The affection of a little girl is like no other. All her dreams, and activities are protection for those she loves.  She will love, rub raw, pet, feed, wash, dress and undress her object of love and sing songs. She will play house, take to bed, show off, and make sure that this loved one is warm.  She will take him or her everywhere.  This is something I hope little girls never grow tired of, because someday some special person will want to be loved by her sweet charms.

Paper hats were the hit of the day at the Pioneers Museum last summer.  Children and adults designed, crumpled, banded and wore their new fabulous creations.

"Building Castles"

make the play at once intimate, passionate and contructive.  This painting sold the first day I put it in the gallery to a family lawyer.

Would that all our relationships could be so sound.  It takes children to teach us how to build a castle of love.

The Peak and the Gods"

One of a  kind sandstone formations, with a view of Pike's Peak behind it is magnificent and a gift to the city of Colorado Springs from the children of Charles Elliot Perkins, open and free to the public since 1909.  Garden of the Gods Park is 1320 acres in size. There are roads throughout the formations with a visitor center nearby. It can be seen from several spots in Colorado Springs about halfway up the mountain and was not involved in the Waldo Canyon fire, thank goodness, but it was close!  This is my interpretation without photo reference.  Not accurate, but stunning, tactile,  fleshy nonetheless, and poetic.

"Skimming the Waters"

Skimming the Waters" from the 2009 CS ballon fest, Colorado Springs, Colorado.   Some of the balloonists lower their balloons and just skim the waters to give onlookers a treat. Thousands of people have awakened early in the morning, pulled on their warm clothes, grabbed their children and of course their cameras,and a snack and if it is not a windy day, the balloonists are given the okay to rise.  With a whoosh of hot air they are up up up and away in their beautiful balloons. It is a "heavenly",sight and a great way to spend a couple of hours for free! Bring your lawn chairs and a friend or two for a spectacular event in the park.
