Dandilions are also loved by herbalists for their vitamins and tummy cures.  

I just remember as a child making bracelets from the flower and stem and then making a wish and blowing the delicate seed heads that resemble upside down umbrellas.

My daughter sent me these tulips during Christmas and they so brightened my day!  I decided that I have enough beautiful photos of arrangements that I must get busy and see if I can paint them all.  Some are from making bouquets at church from my friend Elaines's garden.  We would go pick them on Sat. morning for nearly 8 years.  The pleasure of being with a master gardener in the dewy morning, cutting dozens of tall flowers, and quickly putting them into fresh pails of water is heady. Their fragrances were astonishing!  What a gift!  I savor these amazingly beautiful experiences with a great woman of honor, delight, humor, and care.  

"Happy Papavers"

As the masking fluid spilled onto the tablecloth, I thought to myself, "better get that up quickly before it dries," and I dripped what liquid I could into the bottle.  Next I grabbed a piece of paper and laid it over the rest of the wet masking. 

I let that paper dry and painted around the masking, making delicate flower and leaf patterns.  When I pulled the dried masking off, I had a beautiful, loose, lacey rendition of lovely flowers.  I added a few strokes and leaves and stems. Once in a while the worst condition works out!

This little cherub angel with her delicate face, large blue eyes and pink velvety wings protects little children.  She came down from heaven on a silvered rainy day. The soft rainbow is a promise from God.

"Field Poppies"

These poppies had been popping up in a nearby grassy 

field and I had been wanting to capture their free 

flowing wispiness before their graceful petals fell.  

It is not easy to make yourself stop painting before you
