Eggs, Checks, and Butterfly

  14" x 18"  watercolor   $675.00 framed

An old fashioned kitchen or farmhouse painting.  Beginning with a still life class involving shadows, white objects and a darkened background with a checkered cloth, this was a challenging subject.  The students made it through a difficult class and learned to make values and shapes an
important part of their work.  Showing now at Arati Artists Gallery, 2425 W. Colorado Ave. in Old Colorado City, Colorado Springs, CO.

Springtime Cache

21" x 29"  watercolor matted and framed  $1050.00

How do you know when spring arrives?  Is it the small soft green buds forming on the branches,  or is it the small baby animals that suddenly begin to appear on the landscape?  I have to admit that Spring is my favorite time of the year because of hope...anticipation...delicate colors...play of light...and newness.  I painted these trees, nest and eggs with that thought in my mind.  How do birds do it?  They just get so excited making the nest for their lovers!  How sweet to know that love is in the air everywhere.

"The Architect"

21" x 29"  watercolor  SOLD

The builder is a magpie who lovingly placed each and every twig in its proper place to woo his love.  She came in the spring when he had finished the task in the windy weather. I watched him from my kitchen window, formed the thought of the poetic painting, and he sat while she laid her eggs in the sheltering nest and then he helped feed his brood. Prints are available on http://www.etsy.com/shop/ReveilleKennedyart
