The beautiful blue and white clouds collect the sounds in their moisture drops and send them to other lands and other places to reverberate around the world so that cities and and forest, farms and mountains can reproduce the sounds, trickling into every crevice, to heal and console. Ocean Swell
Just another Water of Life Painting. I have lost track of the number. This is "Ocean Swell", 16 x 20 oil on canvas. s. Did not see any whales, just a few seagulls.
Up and downs of life happen just like waves. Rough waves feel like drowning but also joy.
Depends if you are on the bottom or the top or getting sand in your mouth. Gentle waves feel like nostalgia, peace, and soothing touch

"WATER LILIES"
Using my imagination with alcohol inks, I created these lilies after putting the ink and alcohol on and letting them float into dreamy blobs.  The ink is so brilliant and uncontrollable that way and so much fun.  Then you just figure out what it is.  This painting is on  6 x 6 white tile, and mounted on a black wooden surface.  It is $125. 00.  Shipping is $10.00.

That which God said to the rose, and caused it to laugh in full-blown beauty, He said to my heart, and made it a hundred times more beautiful.
~ Rumi

Sentinel at the Garden

In Colorado Springs is a beautiful natural rock formation named Garden of the Gods. If you are near it you can get a photo of the Garden plus Pike's Peak behind it as well. If you are there in the winter and go to the visitor center, it is just breathtaking. If you go in the evening and the sun is setting, the rocks glow orange. My inspiration with the wolf was to add some life. The painting is cool, but the animal makes it warm. This painting sold at the Sangre de Cristo Art Center in Pueblo, Colorado but is now available for prints

"Water of Life #6" oil, 12 x 36

It is hard to imagine the millions of snowflakes that make up mounds of snow one by one. But that is how God does things in life. By repetition He puts millions of blades of grass into a field and populates it with flowers and bugs and worms. He makes people with millions of cells in their bodies and even changes those cells out every few days and they work perfectly! From houses with bricks, to hairs on our head to the way we learn to walk, talk and read is all a miracle of repetition!
This painting is not a real place, but a compilation of inspiration of peacefulness.

Water of Life #4

"Water of Life #4"

Number 4 in the Water of Life Series was inspired by a trip to Alberta Falls in Colorado. Do you know the feeling of mountain air and the intoxicating fragrance of clean, pure
splashing water? I chose oil paints for this painting so that I could add texture to the scene. My style is rather loose and I love brush strokes to show. It makes the painting more intriguing; more like it was not planned so that your eyes have fun.

“Water of Life #5"

“Water of Life #5 is a commission for a friend. It is sold. It is 24 x 36 on cradle board. Finished on all 2 in. deep sides requiring no frame. I love painting splashing, flowing refreshing water. It goes deep down and climbs high on the rocks. Not unlike life where cold desperate darkness tries to hide the light, but the light seeps in through the broken cracks and crusty crevices, peeking out brightly, bringing bold hope.

 "Searching for Spring"
36 x 11 1/2,  landscape, oil on gesso board.
A painting I made up just having a great time slapping oil paint on gesso board, pushing it around, using a 3 inch brush, a 1 inch brush and a 1/2 inch brush. Creating out of a sense of freedom, standing back, estimating where to put the next strokes, and loving the fresh greens, enjoying the whole process! I may not be finished either. What do you think?
"Meilyn",  watercolor,  20 x 16 on Arches 140 lb.
Meilyn, one of my precious granddaughters is ,painted in basically ultramarine blue and burnt sienna .  From a photo taken by by my daughter Kristi about 12 years ago. We were in Wyoming for a family get together.

Eggs, Checks, and Butterfly

  14" x 18"  watercolor   $675.00 framed

An old fashioned kitchen or farmhouse painting.  Beginning with a still life class involving shadows, white objects and a darkened background with a checkered cloth, this was a challenging subject.  The students made it through a difficult class and learned to make values and shapes an
important part of their work.  Showing now at Arati Artists Gallery, 2425 W. Colorado Ave. in Old Colorado City, Colorado Springs, CO.

Downtown Mystery Dove

10" x 8"    oil on canvas  $99.00

There is a dreamy dove living in our trees, and we can hear him cooing in the morning, but rarely catch a glimpse of this ethereal creature.  I created him from a  image in my mind.  He is downtown in the lamplight along with a sprig from the white orchids I received for Christmas, where he can bless  people with his presence.  Have you seen him?
