12" x 12" oil on deep canvas with black painted sides $145.00
Springtime gardens were awash with color, shape and mystery. The deep velvety black center against the silky crimson petals always intrigue me. I feel the same about butterflies. There is something delicate, yet bold about the way they are put together. Maybe it is a metaphor for life with opposites, attraction, definition and the sassy "come on". Perhaps it is the fleeting floatiness.
I hurried to photograph this painting in the full bright sun,, which washes out color, so it does not have quite the vibrancy it could have. After losing all my hard drive, I am scrambling without my iPhoto. This is a good time to remind you all to bak up your computer. Obviously it is just "stuff", but it is MY stuff. I can live without most of it.
