"Rise and Shine Roses"

8" x 10"  oil  $60.00

Hi Everyone,
These dreamy roses had a spectacular perfumy fragrance and lasted long enough for me to take several photos inside and outside, so I hope to paint a few more rosey oils and maybe some watercolors as well.  Wish you could have had a cup of tea with me and lingered awhile so you could have seen them.  My darling husband sure spoiled me on Mother's Day!  I love being spoiled!  I love bright flowers!  I love my life!

18" x 24"  oil framed  $525.00
A creature with the most moist soft eyes, and gentle nature comes to visit my garden nearly every day....only he thinks it is his garden and loves to snuffle and munch.  My husband always says, "Planting deer food?"  I guess I always hope for those gorgeous blossoms that I see in other people's gardens!

"Ode to Autism"

Ode to Autism (and Patrick)
I barely know you.
You are so like a small stuffed teddy bear.  Who are you inside those seams?  With what are you stuffed?  Where are your dreams and plans?  Whose hearts  are aching for you to think and converse and talk about your world?  Would you exuberantly tell of new shapes, pure sounds, and vibrant colors if we unzipped you?
Has your world oft times been painful and muddled?  Forgive me for wondering, but I think of you often and pray that  God in His mercy talks your language and has a special place beside Him that only you know about.
If we live forever when we die, (and that’s a long time), then our short time on earth can only be a place the wisdom of innocence wins over the wisdom of the world.
In ny own wisdom it seems to me that you’ve been denied a full and happy life,  but what do I know?  Maybe your joy is inexpressible.
Anyway little Teddy, full of stuffing’s, and such, please know somehow that you are dearly loved no matter how much of yourself has worn away.

"How Can I Keep From Singing?"

6" x 6"  acrylic   SOLD

A busy little robin was working hard to get in our window.  Luckily he would fly to the screen, hit with his feet, then drop to the sill looking in as if to say, "Let me in.  I live here."  I shot dozens of photos, then simulated where I wanted him to be.

This demo is finished.  I was going to save it for our PP WS meeting as it was in the previous blog, but could not stand it unfinished.  So I will begin another one soon.  The excitement of choosing your very own pumpkin and getting Mom and Dad's approval is a never to be forgotten experience.

"Monday, Monday"

14" x 24"  oil on canvas, framed  $325.00

In my distant past when all 5 kiddos were little, I did not have an electric clothes dryer, but I did have a clothesline in our backyard.  I never minded hanging clothes whether it was sunny or snowy.  So the urge to paint a house with sparkling white sheets came bubbling out and this is the painting that emerged.  I really love it and can almost smell the fragrance of the soap, the wind, and the stiffness.

"Little Punkins"

11" x 14"  watercolor unfinished

I am creating this portrait of my niece's new daughter for a demo I will be doing at the Pike's Peak Watercolor Society metting on May 16, at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs, CO.  My niece, who is also my namesake has four natural children and 2 beautiful adopted children.  She takes the most wonderful photos, and I am taking advantage of it.  They had gone to the pumpkin farm in the bright sunshine, and everything just glowed.  I am so happy for her and for the children.
